the start of the embers

today is the second day into the series of months that end with “ember” and the beginning of my most favorite favorite time of year (an extra favorite is necessary). the cold rainy weather is appropriate, the tea kettle is warming on the stove, and billy bragg is singing from my speakers. so what if it’s going to be 80 again this week. today i’ll be dreaming of pumpkins and orange leaves and wooly sweaters. brrrr…
