the ghost of octobers past

A glance into my October archives brought this old post to the surface:

so yesterday, i took Caltrain for the first time, quite possibly the longest commuter train that i have ever been on. one thing that i definitely appreciated, however, was the fine assortment of graffiti that was available for my viewing pleasure. lovely.

last night i was musically mesmerized by the jazzy sounds of The Sea and Cake at the Great American Music Hall. what an excellent show. actually the band that opened for them, Town and Country, left a little something to be desired…they were kind of putting me to sleep…so when the Sea and Cake came on, it was like an instant burst of energy! I think Archer Prewitt rocks…he plays his guitar like he’s in DEVO, only way better of course. so anyway, go out and buy some Sea and Cake cds. do it now.

is it abundantly clear that i don’t write about music so much? i am more of a visual person, which is why i went to the California College of Arts and Crafts open house this weekend…the San Francisco campus is absolutely beautiful. it is an old greyhound repair station that they have repurposed into a school with partitioned classrooms and gallery spaces. Very very cool.

Never stop learning.
